Job opportunity for a trainee veterinary nurse

By Ash Tree Vets | 17th April 2023

***Applications Closed***

Our practice is growing and so we are seeking a new Trainee Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team.

You will be working alongside the current team of 8 qualified veterinary nurses and 2 other senior trainee veterinary nurses. This role will involve animal handling, assisting vets and nurses when treating animals, cleaning, walking and feeding inpatients, general cleaning and maintenance duties, answering phone calls and providing the highest standards of animal and customer care.

You must be a fast learner, think on your feet and enjoy being part of a busy working environment. This can be a really rewarding role where you will play a crucial part in helping our patients live happier and healthier lives.

The position will require you to work 38 hours a week and is paid in line with National Living Wage . We encourage career development and after one year of working in Practice, you will have the opportunity to begin your fully funded Advanced Apprenticeship Diploma in Veterinary Nursing leading to your qualification as a registered veterinary nurse. The successful candidate must hold the suitable entry qualifications (five GCSEs at level 4 or higher including English language, mathematics and a science subject). Relevant work experience in a veterinary setting is essential. If you believe you have a passion for veterinary nursing and would be suited to this role but have not yet had the opportunity to gain this necessary experience, we may be able to offer you some work experience in house, which will be considered alongside your application.

Our ideal candidate will have had some experience with animals before, have excellent interpersonal skills and be a real team player.

Please email CV and covering letter to our Practice Manager Amy, amy@ashtreevets.com before May 5th 2023
